Blackberry Picking!
Jo goes blackberry picking, does she get a good haul? Watch and see!
It’s blackberry picking time!
I’m going to fill this maybe a couple of times and store them in the freezer.
I suspect I’m going to be making a lot of blackberry and apple crumble, because who doesn’t love that, or pie.
You want ones that aren’t too firm and aren’t too squishy.
Even now some of them haven’t quite ripened.
So you’ve got quite a few red ones.
So that will ripen later and keep the birds happy.
You’ve got some that have gone over, and you’ve got some, like the three little bears porridge that are just right.
Or should I say the third little bear’s porridge?
And of course you get a lot of juice and snagged.
Snagged a bit juiced a lot.
Anything I drop I leave to the mice or whatever.
Not quite ripe.
Don’t pick the low-hanging fruit.
Chances are something’s peed on it.
Surprisingly, not as many are ripe as I thought.
Guess that one’s just gonna disintegrate on me.
Yes, these are too small.
And either over-ripe or under-ripe.
Glad I wore Wellys.
Good stomping boots.
Is this a fig tree?
It’s not, it’s an Oak tree.
Pickings were a bit pathetic really.
From a distance, all the bushes look like they’re absolutely full of berries and up close I can just see why the birds have left them really.
I’m hoping that there will be more later because this is my pathetic haul.
This is the worst haul I’ve ever had berry picking.
I think I’m gonna freeze this lot and hope that I manage to get a better haul later in the year.
Otherwise, I’m just gonna have berries lying in the bottom of the freezer for… until we decide to clean out I guess.
Don’t forget to like, subscribe, share.
And I hope you guys have more successful berry picking times.
