The Journey Continues
Hello people of the Internet and welcome to yet another episode of Something Vloggy. Today we are going on an excursion to discover these things. That is a waterfall.
It is a waterfall and we are going to carry on from where we left off with the last waterfall walk. We will be heading upstream that way where there are a load more waterfalls.
The Journey Begins
So, up the hill we head, away from that big and rather impressive waterfall. Jo is behind me can you see Jo behind me? Hello.
Hello.
We are on a wonderful waterfall walk!
A Wonderful Waterfall Walk! That’s alliterated, isn’t it? Yes. Oh, yes. And then the singing began! The beauty of this place is, as you know because you’ve seen our previous films, there bits of rather beautiful river all over the place!
First Falls
We haven’t come very far and already we’ve hit our first set of Falls. This is directly above the great big fall that we started at. It’s just a couple of little drops just before the big plummet. Which, I can only assume that if this continues then what will happen is that the big fall will get shorter and shorter, and these Falls will get bigger and bigger. We’re talking geology here people! Oh yes you better believe it!
Obviously now we’re going to continue heading up the hill and more waterfalls to come I know this because it says so on the map. Haha!
Onwards!
That’s the Falls that we’ve just been at and we’re now heading up to another set of falls. And it really is just a question of turn around and there’s another set of Falls. But that’s how quick it is. I mean this is more of a shoot perhaps instead of Falls, but still. It’s just drop after drop. So I’m just above the last set of
waterfalls that I shot and what you’ve got behind me, which I kind of find fascinating to see, is a little stone pavement if you like. It’s where the topsoil has been eroded away by the movement of the river and it is like a little road. It’s lots of flats lumps of rock that are very kind of square on their ends and, it does look like a little pavement.
Off The Beaten Track
Sometimes you have to be a bit intrepid and you have to go off the beaten track a little bit. Although there is a bit of a beaten track down here because other thing that I’m doing, which is to come and see this little plunge pool, and more to the point, this waterfall. We don’t seem to have to stick to the
path today, Ian’s just wandered off the beaten track yet again to go and look at a rather impressive waterfall. We’ve stopped literally every five paces, because it is just all so pretty. I can’t cope with the pretty!
The Water Won’t Stop
It’s inexorable, you can’t stop the water. I mean not that you’d want to stop the water, but the water is just going to keep going, it’s going to keep wearing away these hillsides. It’s gonna keep making these waterfalls, making plunge pools, making the plunge pools deeper. And everything moves slowly but surely back until, eventually, there are huge clefts in the mountains from which they’re coming. That is part of the amazing thing about waterfalls. Part of the thing that I find so magical.
It’s Boggy
I just scrambled down to get a shot of the other waterfall. It’s quite buggy down there. If it had been raining recently I wouldn’t have been able to go at all. Because boggy.
Rain!
So behind us is another quite nice-looking waterfall, and this is going to be the last one that we film for this film because of the fact that it’s now about the bucket it down. So we are going to go basically home. Yeah. You know somewhere warm, somewhere dry. Because although we don’t mind the rain, the camera kit does, and what happens when you camera stuff gets wet? It stops working. It is a leaky bucket of electrical fizzery. Yes, and judging by the big clouds that are moving in over from that direction, I think it’s fairly safe to say we’re going to get wet.
Next Week
We will be seeing you next Monday, when there will be another exciting film
where we go somewhere exciting, and do something exciting, and see exciting things! Because it’s exciting because that’s what we do! Don’t forget to subscribe if you like and click the little bell To it give it some ears! See you next time.
